Q63684 Jerky Movement When Moving Windows in Program Manager
Microsoft Windows 3 Retail Product (WIN3)
3.00
MS-DOS
Summary:
If you use the mouse or keyboard to move or resize windows in
Microsoft Windows version 3.00 Program Manager, you may experience
jerky movement. The window you are working with may seem to lag
behind, then jump from point to point. This occurs because the sizing
grid granularity is set too high. Reduce the grid granularity setting
to obtain the smoothness of movement desired, as follows:
1. From the Main Group in Program Manager, choose Control Panel.
2. Select the Desktop Icon.
3. In the Granularity dialog box, select the value desired.
This invisible grid could be compared to a piece of graph paper. Each
intersection on the graph paper represents the point at which the
window can rest. The larger the squares on the grid of the graph
paper, the greater the jump the window must take between resting
points. The sizing grid granularity has a range of 0 to 49. Setting
the granularity to any number greater than zero will cause the window
to jump when resized or moved.
